How to Travel from Malaysia to Tibet
Approaching China, it is easy to travel from Malaysia to Tibet. Up to now, there are two ways to approaching Tibet. Tourists can get from Malaysia to other cities of China then transfer to Tibet. Meanwhile, tourists can travel from Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal to Tibet.

Since there is no direct flight fromÂ Malaysia toÂ Tibet, Tourists can take flights from Malaysia to other cities in China like Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu. And there are many connective flights from those cities to Lhasa. If you wanna take flights to other parts of Tibet, you are suggested to take connective flights at Chengdu which offers the flights toÂ Nyingchi and Shigatse.Â There are daily flights from KL and Chengdu all year around that operated by Air Asia.Â AndÂ there are 8 to 12 direct daily flights from Chengdu to Lhasa, Tibet. Taking flights from Chengdu to LhasaÂ will take about 2 hours. On the way, tourists may see the spectacular mountain views.Â
Since the Qinghai-Tibet Railway put in service in 2006, taking a train to Tibet is more and more popular. So it’s definitely possible for Malaysians to take a train from other cities of China to Tibet.Â Qinghai-Tibet railway radiates from major cities across China including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Xining, and Xi’an. Taking a train from Chengdu to Lhasa takes about 2 full days. Taking a train from other cities in China to Tibet not only gives you a chance to appreciate the breathtaking scenery but also help you to adjust to the high altitude.
Traveling to Tibet via Kathmandu, Nepal
Once you can take a bus from Kathmandu to Tibet, but now the possible way from Kathmandu to Tibet is taking a flight.Â Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) of Kathmandu is the only international airport that operates direct flights to Lhasa, Tibet. AndÂ the flight takes about 75 minutes.
It is also possible to catch the overland journey from Kathmandu to Lhasa which takes 3 or 4 days. Tourist can take flights from KL to Kathmandu, then rent a car and drive on the friendship highway. On the route, you may see the masterpiece of nature.
The Best Time to Travel to Tibet
Tourists can travel to Tibet all theÂ years round. As for the best time to travel to Tibet, it is not exactly clear. That all depends on what you wanna explore. If you are favor of hiking, you can travel to Tibet during spring and autumnÂ that is from April to the end of May and from September to October. If you are looking forward to visiting the world highest mountain, Mt. Everest, you can exploreÂ Tibet inÂ Apr, May, Sept, Oct, Nov.Â And the best time to catch a glimpse of Mt.Kailash is from April to October.
